Received the First Class Badge of Knowledge

The ceremony honoring the nation’s distinguished figures in science, literature, culture, and the arts—as well as the honorees of the country’s four academies—is held through the joint collaboration of these institutions. Each year, applying specific scientific criteria, the academies select the scholars deemed most deserving of such recognition and honor them during a joint commemorative ceremony.
This event has been held since the year 1379 (2000/2001). Since 1381 (2002/2003), the government has agreed to award a first-class state decoration to the honorees selected by the academies; accordingly, those selected by the Academy of Sciences have received the “First-Class Order of Knowledge.”
