The primary objective of this study was to identify the key requirements for developing engineering education strategies in Iran from the perspectives of industrial managers and university faculty members. The research employed a descriptive survey methodology. Data were collected using a researcher-developed questionnaire completed by 32 industrial managers and 40 faculty members. The collected data were analyzed using appropriate statistical methods.

The findings indicate that reforming engineering education in Iran is essential. The most significant challenges facing engineering education include students’ uncertainty about their future careers, as well as social and economic problems. To address these challenges, it is crucial to align engineering education with global scientific and educational developments while promoting entrepreneurial and practice-oriented engineering education.

Furthermore, to ensure that engineering curricula respond effectively to emerging needs and changing conditions, greater emphasis should be placed on practical courses such as design projects, laboratories, and workshops, as well as computer-assisted instruction and English language education within engineering programs.

Finally, to enhance engineering students’ sense of professional responsibility, encourage their contribution to sustainable societal development, and improve their understanding of the engineering profession, courses in engineering ethics, environmental studies, energy, and introduction to engineering should be mandatory.
