On-site material characterization is performed using portable X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and LIBS systems to enable rapid, in-field elemental analysis of geological and mining materials. This approach provides direct, non-destructive assessment of rocks, ores, soils, and drill core samples at the sampling location, eliminating the need for laboratory transport or sample preparation. The combined use of portable XRF and LIBS enables fast multi-element determination across a wide concentration range, covering major, minor, and trace elements. These measurements support real-time geological interpretation, lithological discrimination, and geochemical mapping during exploration and mining activities.
