Ferrite content is critical in controlling mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and weldability of stainless steel components, particularly in welds and heat-affected zones (HAZ). The FMP30 works on the principle of magnetic induction, where the ferritic phase in the material induces a measurable magnetic response.
